Passion & Pastime

... and then I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?

- Vincent van Gogh

Singing

I have had a lifelong passion for choral music, which ignited when I joined a choir at a young age. I have been a member of the Beijing Philharmonic Choir since the age of 6, participating in numerous performances at prestigious venues such as the National Center for the Performing Arts and Zhongshan Park Music Hall until I left the choir at 15. After entering university, I also joined the Tsinghua University Choir, continuing my passion for choral music.

Choral music, to me, is more than just singing; it's a means of expressing my deepest emotions and connecting with both the music and fellow singers on an emotional level. I am grateful for every opportunity I have had to be a part of something so profoundly moving.

Painting

I enjoy painting. To me, painting is more than just strokes of color on canvas; it's a profound form of communication with the world around me. While I might not have undergone formal artistic training, I view painting as a way to connect with the world and express myself.

During the winter break of 2023, I went on a sketching trip to Hainan Province in China with my friends. I captured various scenes there through my paintings: beaches, coconut trees, and quaint old streets ...

It was just so much fun ...
